The Original Diet Plan

Have you noticed that there are so many "diet plans" on the market that promise to fix all your health problems? If you were to follow all of them one at a time, you would not get healthier, but would develop problem after problem. Yet, that's exactly what many people do! They go from no fat to no salt to no meat to no carbs to all fat to all meat to all carbs and on and on................and we wonder why we have health problems!!

The #1 key to eating to become healthier is to eat the way that our Creator designed us to eat! It's so simple that we overlook this time and time again, even tho it makes perfect sense! God placed the first man and woman in a GARDEN! Not in the middle of a city or on a buffalo plain or in a fast food restaurant!! LOL But a GARDEN!! So, He designed our bodies to thrive off of fresh fruits and vegetables - just picked and eaten. We, too, would be healthier if most of what we ate was what we could pick and eat as we worked. Then, second to raw fruits and veggies would be quick-cooked vegetables or slow-cooked soups and stews. Meat was eaten sparingly because it was just what they could catch (fish or animals in a trap). Even animals like chickens were not eaten all the time - that's why not so long ago even, Sunday chicken dinners were so special. Have you ever killed and de-feathered a chicken? I would only be eating chicken once a year if I had to do that!! Of course, fish are easier to catch and cook, and so we are designed to eat fish more often than meat.

Then comes the question of grains and carbs. Original grains were very healthy for people; indeed, they were the "staff of life." But now wheat has been changed and hybridized to the point that many people cannot digest it. I like the Einkorn wheat and pasta - it's an ancient grain, and is known as one of the oldest varieties of wheat. There are many, many foods and drinks that are so good for us and each one of us also has preferences that may or may not be what our body needs. There are also so many foods that are poisonous to our bodies! So, we need to be in tune with our bodies and eat accordingly, but in line with God's ideal diet for us. However, if you are in poor health or dealing with special issues, then you may need a special diet for a time, such as juicing, no dairy, no meat, no raw vegetables, etc.

There are still so many things to talk about regarding food - organic, non-GMO, and many more things we have to consider these days. Above all, praying for our food and being thankful! We are blessed!!!!
