I've just got to share this post by my friend Teri Ringham, who wrote the book "Essential Gut and Hormone Wellness" - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H2VM4VM/ref=dp-kindle-redirect…
Here's her post - it's a long but important read for anyone interested in HEALTH and WELLNESS!! (Adam is her son!)
Like Adam—I’m not being a jerk. Questioning a broken system is not wrong-it’s our obligation to ourselves and our children. Based on the number of “uncured” patients, the system is broken.
I had a lady once ask me what I had done to have success with my great improvement in my Fibromyalgia and Lupus—without using meds. As I listed my simple protocol that has worked for myself and others I have worked with, her friend standing next to her declared to me “you are not a doctor— I wouldn’t listen to someone that doesn’t have a medical background.”
One... I’m thankful I don’t have a medical background or I would currently be taking what my doctor had recommended: a large number of prescriptions along with the latest treatment for lupus which is chemotherapy drugs.
Two... I didn’t say I did have a medical background. And it’s each persons choice whether they want to listen to someone who has healed or listen to someone who hasn’t healed people.
This same lady who told me she wouldn’t listen to anyone who wasn’t doctor proceeded to tell me how she had a wonderful doctor. I congratulated her and told her good for her for finding a Doctor not set on prescribing medications. She informed me “oh, I’m on medications –I take eight medications —but my doctor keeps them carefully monitored and they are keeping me healthy”
Her irrational mindset on this led to my jaw dropping and a big pause on my end of this conversation... In a conversation like this, the best thing I can do is nod my head to her and walk away from her while I finish my conversation with her friend who truly wanted to get better.
Medical people often poke fun at Google University but let me tell you something – this is exactly how I found the information to help lead me to the health protocol that got myself and my family where we are today-zero medications, no injections, no surgeries... just a responsibility on our part for our health.
Yes, we have genetics and that is the standard fallback for every medical person that does not have a patient improve. However we have genetics and we have our influence on pulling the trigger on those genetics —called epigenetic‘s. If someone isn’t discussing this with you they are not doing you a service.
The question begs – are you healthier today than when you entered the medical system? If not, it’s time to take your health into your hands and start attending Google University. The escalating statistics on unhealthy Americans is frightening and startling.
There’s no question, we should be thankful for our medical system in an emergency. But for chronic, day to day health conditions, the system is lacking.
If you have managed to find a doctor that has escaped the medical school indoctrination of “medications are the only form of treatment”, congratulations to you and to that doctor —hang on tight to that doctor because they are rare.
Taking charge of your health is your best chance of seeing improvement. You have very little to lose and potentially a great amount to gain. This does mean, of course, there are changes you are responsible to make. Changes such as eating a healthy diet, eliminating chemicals from your home and personal care products.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. It’s wonderful to see your children thinking for themselves and taking control of their health. Like it or hate it...Adam Ringham makes a good point in his following comments: “Remember - the more “letters” behind somebody’s name - usually the less capable they are of any form of original thought. Degrees are earned not by making large breakthroughs in a field - but by repeating what they are told is true. It also includes paying large sums of money to go repeat what they are told is true - further reinforcing the "truths" they are fed.
I'm not saying that people with degrees don't have valuable information - I am saying don't let the letters behind a name be your deciding factor in whether to listen to them or not. Everything a person learns in college can now be learned for free on the internet or at a library. So which is smarter? Paying $100,000 for an "education", or learning that for free?
Ask your doctor what their percentage of cured or healthy patients is. You're not being a jerk - you're simply asking about how well are they doing their job. How many patients have they gotten OFF prescription drugs? If you go to a doctor - you're supposed to get better, not worse. Ask your doctor if they would take the same treatment they are telling you to - even if they aren't sick. Any natural health doctor probably already takes what they will tell you to.
Look at chemotherapy as an example. We have a substance so toxic - a healthy person should go nowhere near it. Yet we're going to put that in a sick person and expect them to magically get healthy? Be involved in your own healing - and make sure to interview your health care provider. If I had a plumber that never fixed anything - they'd be fired. Your doctor shouldn't be any different.”
